Today, Jim turned 36! Happy Birthday, Jimmy!
We were going to celebrate his birthday at the Scrappers game later in the evening.
We started our day, just being a little lazy. I was going down to Firestone Park in Columbiana, to take some pictures for a friend of ours we met through Boardman Rotary.
The session went great and the little ones were pretty cooperative. It's always fun taking pictures!
I got home and we just relaxed the rest of the afternoon. Jim has actually been fighting a swollen throat for a few days. He said that was really his only symptom. He was hurting pretty bad last week, then it felt a lot better, but during the fireworks last night it started to flare back up. That's not a fun birthday present. And unfortunately, it put a little damper on his celebration for him.
We were going to dinner with Nana and Papa around 5 before the game. We had a nice dinner at Nicolini's, then headed back to the house to pick up Brinkley! He got to go with us to celebrate Jim's birthday, since it was Bark at the Park night!
We were meeting, Raymond, Jennifer, Dexter and Jim's mom and dad. What a fun crew!
We got to the game and all settled in. We had such a fun time and everyone was well behaved. Dexter was probably the best behaved out of all of us. He just sat on Raymond and Jennifer's laps and never made a peep! Reagan and Brinkley were all over the place, but were good.
We all got little dog paw stamps on our arms for bringing a dog. Reagan even got a temporary Scrappers tattoo, that she just loved.
She took turns hanging out with her grandparents. At one point, we were trying to take a picture of her and we said, "Wave to Papa!" She picked up both arms and waved her hands in the direction of BOTH her papas. It was HILAROUS! She's too funny!
Jim even got his name up on the score board for his birthday. I had called the day before and they said to watch around the 5th inning for the birthdays. It came quick and Jim happened to be in the restroom. As it turns out, it didn't matter because they forgot his. I went to find someone to ask about it and told them what happened. They put it up a little later in the game and he got to see it! It was fun!
Nana, Reagan, Brinkley and I went to find the Dunkin Donuts mascots and Scrappy to take some pictures. That was a HOOT!
All in all, it was a fun night even though the Scrappers lost. We're looking forward to next year's Bark at the Park already!
Jimmy, despite the sore throat, had a great birthday and got lots of fun presents from all of us at the game. He got lots of Disney dollars, Marriott dollars, a book, new dress shoes, socks, a nice wind breaker/all weather jacket for Alaska and Championship club tickets for the Akron PGA golf tournament. He had a wonderful day!
There are three photos for today...
The first is the Zabel clan at Bark at the Park...
The next is the Cvetkovic group at Bark at the Park
And finally, Jim's Scrappers birthday greeting!
