Brinkley's Surgery - 34/365

Today was Brinkley's surgery and we were totally dreading it.
He had three lumps around his front legs that we were getting removed. Dr. Allen didn't think they were anything, but with the news from the breeder, of a couple dogs developing cancer. We decided to just get them off. Better to be safe, than sorry.
We took him first thing this morning. I felt so bad, because he was really excited to go in the car. Little did he know where he was going.
They said he would probably be ready for pick-up around 3:30. They actually called around 1:30 and said he could be picked up at two. They said he did great and was just waking up. We couldn't wait to see him!
We were shocked when we saw his incisions because were a lot bigger than we expected. We felt so bad for him! He looked so tired and sore, but was really excited to see us. We got him all up in the car for his ride home. He looked so uncomfortable in the car. I felt so bad.
Once we got him home, he just layed around the rest of the day and slept! He was limping a little bit, too. It was pitiful! Reagan was a concerned sister and gave him lots of loving.
We're so happy the lumps were nothing, but now, we feel bad we put him through it for nothing. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for him!
The photo of the day is Brinkley.
