Jim and Greg were ready to spend their first full day in Florida. Jim woke up and put jeans on, took two steps outside and turned around and went back for shorts. It was going to be a gorgeous day!
They drove to the course and were so happy to find out you could park right there. Most tournaments they attend, you have to take a bus from a far away parking lot. The course itself was gorgeous. The course was the Grand Lakes Orlando on the Ritz Carlton property.
This tournament was great for them, because even though they went specifically to see Jack Nicolaus, Jim's favorite golfer of all time, they got to see some other big name players as well. They saw Vijay Singh, Lee Travino, Raymond Floyd, and many others.
Jim said they spent time watching groups come through on various tee boxes and the driving range. One highlight, was Greg got to talk with Raymond Floyd for a few minutes and even got his signature on his hat. He was thrilled!
After the tournament, they went back to the hotel for a rest before they hit the Boardwalk for some dinner. They decided to eat at the ESPN Club. After they took a quick spin around the lagoon, before turning in for the night.
Jim was tempted to hit the Magic Kingdom for a bit tonight, since it was open till 1AM, but he knew he had to be at the course by 8:30 to see Jack tee off.
Meanwhile at home, Reagan and I had a birthday party to go to. Her little friend Dominic from school was turning, four. The party was down at the clubhouse at Firestone Farms. All the little ones from her class were there, so she had a good time. They had a little bounce around, decorated gingerbread men and hit a pinata. What a fun little party! We had a great time.
This evening, Reagan and I went to Tippy with Nana and Papa.
Reagan got her cheese bowl and colored lots of pictures. She even wanted to sign for the bill. It was a hoot!
The first pic was them walking into the tournament.
