Today was a really sad day, we were saying goodbye to Mabel.
Her memorial service was this afternoon at Lane in Austintown.
Jim left first to go up and be with his mom a little early and Reagan and I stayed home. Nana and Papa were going to go up and pay their respects and then Reagan and I were going to do "baby swap" with Reagan in the parking lot.
Reagan adored her Great Grandma Roupe. She loved going over to her apartment to see her and play. We didn't have the heart to tell her, since she's still pretty little, so we're just keeping her away from the service.
Everything was nice. It was nice to share some stories about Mabel and reminisce. Greg stood up and said some lovely words about Mabel.
One thing I loved, was there was a picture displayed at the service that was a perfect portrayal of how everyone saw Mabel. She loved taking pictures of everyone in her family. Especially her great grandkids. I had to snap a picture of the picture, so we could always remember it.
After the service, everyone went to a luncheon at the hall at Mabel's apartment complex.
They brought all the lovely flowers from the service there. Mabel always loved gardening, so it was fitting to have so many flowers around. Jim and I brought home a couple tulip plants, so I can replant the bulbs. Then, every Spring when they come up, we can remember Mabel. It will be a wonderful tribute to her.
We are going to miss her so much! She was the best!
