Through the Looking Glass - 39/365

Tonight, Nana, Papa, Jim and I were heading up to Twinsburg to watch Adrienne perform in Through the Looking Glass.
She loves the theater and has done work for the Twinsburg Community Theater before.
We started with dinner at Blue Canyon. It's one of our favorite places to eat! The food is just excellent and we dream about their homemade S'more dessert. They make their own marshmallows right there. It's SO GOOD! We had a really nice dinner and we were stuffed!
We got over to the theater right on time and enjoyed the play. The cast was huge, there was nearly 100 people. There was a bunch of little ones, probably between 5-10, that were really cute to watch, too. You could tell they just loved being up there. Adrienne was part of the Red Court and did a great job. It's always neat to see her in action on stage.
After the play, we got to meet up with her for a few minutes. It was funny to see her up close in her costume. We loved her red glittery eyes! LOL!
It was a fun night out, but not a fun drive home. It started snowing while we were in there and was pretty much a white out the whole way home. Tis the season!
Reagan spent the night with Grandma and Papa Greg. They had a great time playing and spending time together, too!
The photo of the day is Nana, Papa, Jim, Adrienne and I with the jabberwocky.
Brinkley seemed to be doing much better today, too! He was up and about more and wanting to play. We think his incisions are healing up well, because they seem to be a bit itchy. We had to put a t-shirt on him for a little bit this afternoon to keep him from scratching. I think he was a bit embarrassed.

Recovering Day Two - 35/365

Today was a lazy day.
I was going to be working on some stuff for Reagan's party, so Reagan was off to Nana's for the day. They had a great day playing some new games! Nana had gotten a new Jake and the Neverland Pirates Fishing game! She LOVED it! So much so, that Nana brought it home and gave it to us to keep at our house, so she could play it all the time. She came running in the house with it! They love their play days together!
Brinkley was still pretty sore and limping around a bit today. He basically spent his day laying on the floor with a heating pad on his incisions. The doctor said it would really help keep the swelling and clotting down around his stitches. He seemed to really like it, because he did just lay with it on all day! Feel better buddy!

Next, Reagan and her favorite fish game!

Brinkley's Surgery - 34/365

Today was Brinkley's surgery and we were totally dreading it.
He had three lumps around his front legs that we were getting removed. Dr. Allen didn't think they were anything, but with the news from the breeder, of a couple dogs developing cancer. We decided to just get them off. Better to be safe, than sorry.
We took him first thing this morning. I felt so bad, because he was really excited to go in the car. Little did he know where he was going.
They said he would probably be ready for pick-up around 3:30. They actually called around 1:30 and said he could be picked up at two. They said he did great and was just waking up. We couldn't wait to see him!
We were shocked when we saw his incisions because were a lot bigger than we expected. We felt so bad for him! He looked so tired and sore, but was really excited to see us. We got him all up in the car for his ride home. He looked so uncomfortable in the car. I felt so bad.
Once we got him home, he just layed around the rest of the day and slept! He was limping a little bit, too. It was pitiful! Reagan was a concerned sister and gave him lots of loving.
We're so happy the lumps were nothing, but now, we feel bad we put him through it for nothing. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for him!

Brinkley's Vet Visit - 9/365

We noticed a few weeks ago, Brinkley had developed a pretty big lump on his shoulder.
We had been meaning to get him in and have it checked, but with the holidays we just hadn't got him in. We finally went this morning and talked to Dr. Allen. We just love him, he's so honest, straightforward and never tries to do anything that isn't needed. He felt around and said, while he thinks it is most likely nothing, that he would recommend having it taken out just to be safe. He said he is personally against biopsy, because he feels if you poke a bad tumor, the potential for bad cells to spread is too great for him. He recommends, just going in, getting a clean removal and be done with it. I asked what the recovery time would be and he said, he would walk in and walk out on his own power. He said he would probably be back to his old self the next day and would be free to go on walks, too. He'll have it done the first week of February. Having him put under and go through a big surgery is scary, but not as scary as the alternative. We love you buddy!
