Big Girl Bed - 70/365

Today, Reagan's big girl bed was coming!
Actually, it was just a replacement crib, but still.
We got Reagan's crib from Pottery Barn Kids, three years ago. At that point, we didn't purchase the conversion kit, nor did anyone tell us that it was important to do so then. Back in December we were up at Adrienne's and the girls were up playing in Jillian's room. Reagan was fascinated that Jillian's bed "had a door on it" (it was just her crib with the toddler rail). Ever since then, she would ask when she could have a door or her bed. We kept saying, when you start going in the potty like a big girl.
In January, Reagan finally decided to crawl out of her crib. Up to that point, she had been great, so we figured, if she still fit and wasn't crawling out, why take the rail off of the crib! Anyway, since she crawled out, we decided to order the conversion kit. I went Pottery Barn Kids website, found the exact crib and ordered the toddler rail. The day it came, Reagan was SO excited to have her "door on her bed." Jim and I were trying to get it on, but the directions weren't matching up with our crib. It was talking about holes that weren't there. I called Pottery Barn Kids for some assistance and they said, since our crib was three years old, that rail wasn't going to fit. They apparently have updated the crib in three years. The lady was super helpful and said that they would swap out our crib for a new one. I immediately asked, "What's that going to cost?" She replied, "nothing." They were going to bring us a new crib for NOTHING! AMAZING! The only catch, we had to wait yet another month for her bed to come. Reagan was bummed, but didn't give us too much trouble. Every once in awhile she would ask where the door on her bed was, since she had become potty trained.
Today was finally delivery day! The guys were super nice and got everything all set up. The new crib's finish is a lot brighter than the old finish, but it works for now. Reagan went crazy with excitement. She was in and out of her "door" about 100 times. She yelled at the top of her lungs, "My big girl bed! I waited all year for this!" I busted!
Nap time didn't go too well, since she was so excited. Oh well!
We just can't believe believe she is now free to roam about. Our little girl is getting so grown up. We're so proud of the little lady she is becoming, but at the same time, we are so sad to watch our baby disappear before our eyes.
I was supposed to go to MOPS this morning, but they never gave an exact window as to when they would come to deliver. In the meantime, Jim's mom came to pick up Reagan and they went to help Great Grandma Roupe do a few things and then did a little shopping and lunch all together.
Reagan had still been talking about the Haley Galaxy they didn't have at Toys R Us from the other day. I was telling Jim's mom the story, after Reagan showed her the Mari Golden Petals one. While they were out shopping, they happened to stumble on one and Reagan was lucky enough to bring it home. She was so thrilled. She loves the little Haley Galaxy and now has a big one to go with it! Grandma Cvetkovic was so sweet to pick it up for her.
Also today, Jim thought he lost his iPhone. He had it at work, then went to Rotary this afternoon. He realized a few minutes into his meeting that he didn't have it. He went out, looked in the car, nothing. He scoured the parking lot, nothing. He always has his on silent, so he couldn't call it and hear any ringing. He drove back to the office to check his desk and it wasn't there either. He started to panic since he doesn't have a pass code on it. He called me to see what we should do. I wasn't sure, so I said I would look into and for him to call me back when he could. He took Sharon's cell phone down to the car to try to hear it vibrating. He could hear it and finally discovered it underneath the passenger seat. He has no idea how it got there, but at least he found it! He was happy!
This evening, Reagan did really well going to bed. She was pooped from no nap, so she didn't do too much in and out in her new bed.
The photo of the day is Reagan in her new bed!
I had to add this one, too.
This was her last morning in a crib. Sigh....
Finally, Reagan with her Haley Galaxy friends.
