Ear Ache - 62/365

What a heartbreaking morning this morning was.
Reagan woke up crying around 5:45AM. She is an excellent sleeper (knock on wood) and RARELY ever wakes up during the night. I thought she may just be having a nightmare or something, so I went in and asked her what was wrong. She replied, "I don't want to sleep anymore." I said, "Honey, it's five o'clock, it's not time to get up. Close your eyes and try to lay down a little longer." Just as I drifted back off to sleep, she woke me again. We went through the same thing. I pressed a little harder as to what was wrong, but she insisted, "I can't sleep anymore." I urged her to sleep just a bit longer, since she normally gets up around 8:30. It was about a half hour later when she started crying again. Finally, I picked her up and said "OK, we can get up. What's wrong honey, why can't you sleep?" She replied, "Mine ear really hurts." I felt horrible. Here, she was laying in pain for the last hour and a half and I didn't know it. Poor baby! My heart just broke. I took her temperature and it was fine. She didn't have any other symptoms either. She had a fever two weeks prior and had been battling an off and on stuffy nose since, but seemed fine otherwise. I called the doctor right at nine, they said they could see us at 1:30. It was going to be a long morning/afternoon.
We cuddled up on the couch and she did great while her shows were on, but as one would end, she would get anxious and pull at her ear. About a half hour before we were set to go, she was watching a show while I was folding some laundry. She fell sound asleep on the couch with Mr. Fuzzy and Puppy on top of her bad ear. It was precious. I hated waking her up!
We got to the doctor and he peeked in her ear, an actually went "whoa." It was really swollen and inflamed. He prescribed some drops that we had to put in every two hours and an antibiotic. We left there, stopped to pick up the prescription and went home for a nap. By the time she woke up, she was becoming a whole new person. She was in the mood for some mild playing. She even said, "My ear is starting to feel beddor!" Hopefully tomorrow will be better!
The photo of the day is our pitiful girl waiting to be seen at the doctors.
Next, Reagan during her nap with Mr. Fuzzy and Puppy comforting her ear.
