We noticed a few weeks ago, Brinkley had developed a pretty big lump on his shoulder.
We had been meaning to get him in and have it checked, but with the holidays we just hadn't got him in. We finally went this morning and talked to Dr. Allen. We just love him, he's so honest, straightforward and never tries to do anything that isn't needed. He felt around and said, while he thinks it is most likely nothing, that he would recommend having it taken out just to be safe. He said he is personally against biopsy, because he feels if you poke a bad tumor, the potential for bad cells to spread is too great for him. He recommends, just going in, getting a clean removal and be done with it.
I asked what the recovery time would be and he said, he would walk in and walk out on his own power. He said he would probably be back to his old self the next day and would be free to go on walks, too. He'll have it done the first week of February. Having him put under and go through a big surgery is scary, but not as scary as the alternative. We love you buddy!
The photo of the day is Brinkley at his appointment.
