Frozen Doors - 7/365

We woke up today, to freezing temps! Our heat was working ok, but it was still cold. It was crazy! When I came downstairs this morning, I noticed the inside of our front door had a buildup of ice! ICE, inside! I couldn't believe it. I have never seen such a thing!
When Reagan finally woke up, I went to get her dressed for her day with Nana. She happened to look out her window and say, "Mama, my windows are scratchy." I went over and sure enough, she had ice buildup on her window, too! It was so weird!
This afternoon, I was home all alone and started hearing what sounded like hammering. It was really loud and went on for awhile. I thought my neighbor may have been doing something in his garage. I thought it was weird, since it was the middle of the day and it was 30 below. I peeked out Reagan's playroom window to look at his garage and they were both closed. Then, I started hearing it again and it sounded like it was coming from upstairs. It really sounded like someone had a hammer on the roof!! I was beyond freaked out. I thought maybe a pipe froze and was about to burst or something. I called Jim and he was going to come home, but then it calmed down. We thought maybe the wind was shaking something in the attic. About 45 minutes later, it started again and it was a little bit louder. Nana was going to keep Reagan for her nap, but I noticed it was about 20 minutes before she was due to go down. I asked her to just bring Reagan home early and help me listen. She couldn't figure it out either. Reagan didn't seem to be bothered by it, she went right to sleep. We listened for awhile and then almost thought we heard an animal up there. We banged on the ceiling a couple times where the noise was and it never happened again. Hopefully, if it was an animal, it's gone! Since I couldn't photograph the ghost in the attic, the photo of the day is our icy door.
