Reagan checked out her first books at the library today!
We recently found out about a program at the local libraries called Baby Brilliant. There are a few different ones under the Baby Brilliant title. We decided to try one out this morning at the Austintown Library called Bonding with Babies and Books.
It was a great little program, but I think Reagan was a bit too old for this particular one. They sang a few songs and read one book. She seemed to really like it and enjoyed participating, but the other kids were a lot smaller than her. She has been doing the songs they sang for quite awhile already.
There are two others called Tales & Talk for 2's and 3's and Gotta Move Storytime. I think she will enjoy those more being around kids the same age. It will be fun to get her involved and spending some time at the library.
After the program, we had fun exploring the children's section of the library. We looked at all the books and DVD's. What a selection! It's been years, since I've been to a library. Probably college, really! Sad, I know. I tend to just run to Barnes and Noble or use the Kindle App on the iPad to read books. Today though, I figured if we are going to be participating in these programs we might as well sign up for a library card. This way we can get Reagan excited about checking out new books when we are there. We chose three to bring home today and read all three after her bath tonight. Her favorite was the bird one. She is taking after Nana and Great Grandpa Roy with her love of birds. We read A House for Birdie three times tonight. She really does love to read, which is wonderful! There is not much better than story time after her bath.
The photo of the day is her first three library books and our new library card!
There was another "out of the ordinary" event that happened today. There was a Mallard Duck in our front yard during the mini-blizzard. Rachel texted me and said "There is a duck in your front yard!" LOL! I had already saw the strange occurrence and was already planning my photo strategy...LOL! I'm not sure what this little guy was doing. Guess he just wanted to visit! Hope he stayed warm!
Today also marks the start of the FOURTH month of this project! Three down and nine more to go! I really am having the best time with it. I know I've said it before, but I want you to know that I appreciate your support. Your "likes" and comments mean the world to me! Thanks for taking part in this journey!
