Finding Flounder - 130/365

Today, we all wanted to spend sun up to sun down on the beach!
It was 80 and perfectly sunny! It was absolutely gorgeous!
Jim, Reagan and I started down on the beach. We set up a little campground and hit the ocean. Reagan was loving jumping in the waves, but was a little apprehensive, too. They were a pretty good size! She was laughing, but making a "ooohhh ooohhh ohhhh" sound the whole time.
After we played in the water awhile, we went up to our little camp and played in the sand. We made a few little castles and some turtles. She had a good time!
When we were done at the beach, we went up to the pools to find Aunt Pam. We swam with her for quite a while, then went up for some lunch!
After lunch, Pam, Nana, Reagan and I headed down to the inlet for some treasure hunting. We were all over the creek bed. We were back in the first bend of the creek, where there were a TON of little fiddler crabs, that was Aunt Pam's cue to leave. She doesn't like the little critters and said, "I'm out" and went back to the pools.
My mom, Reagan and I continued on our hunt. All of a sudden, my mom said, "ewww what's that?" I looked, and it was a huge flat looking fish! I grabbed the big net and scooped it up and moved it to more shallow water so we could look at it. He was so cool! We had no idea what it was at the time. Reagan has no fear and just started petting him. It was so cute! After we were done documenting our find and checking him out, we took him back to more deeper water and let him go. We told Reagan he wanted to go back to his "happy place."
We continued on our quest, and saw a man and his daughter walking around, also with nets. We asked them if they found anything interesting. He said just a few crabs. He asked if we had found anything and we told him about our fish friend. He said, "that sounds like a Flouder. That's a pretty good find!" (When I got back up to the room, I googled, “Flounder” and sure enough, that’s what he was!) Pretty exciting!
We kept strolling in the inlet when Reagan met a little friend. Reagan does seem to make friends pretty easy. She just walked up to the little girl and said “what your name?” The little girl replied, “Abby!” She was showing Reagan some of the small fish she had found. All of a sudden, the little girl ran up to where their camp was set up. Reagan shouted “Wait, don’t go! I didn’t mean to scare you!” It was absolutely hilarious! I don’t know where she comes up with this stuff!
Next, we headed back up to the room. There are some pretty big fountains in the front of the building and every time we would get off the elevator on our floor, Reagan would run to the window to see if they were on. This time she looked out, put her head down and said, “I never get to see the fountains.” She turned away and walked the entire way down to our room with her head down. It was absolutely pitiful! I felt so bad!
Finally, we all got all cleaned up for our annual “picnic night.” On our last night at the beach we just sit around the condo and have a pizza. It’s so nice to be casual and recap all our fun over a pizza and margaritas.
While we were waiting for the pizza to be ready, Reagan was giving everyone a check-up with her new doctor’s kit, Aunt Pam got her. She was giving Nana a once over and when she was done, she packed up her little doctors bag and blurted out, “I better go to my next patient!” My mom and I busted out laughing! I think we kind of embarrassed her, because she stuck out her little bottom lip and almost started to cry. I felt terrible! I scooped her up, gave her a big hug and reassured her that what she said was adorable and we were so happy! I love when she just amazes us with the stuff she says! Too cute!
After pizza, Jim and I decided to take a night walk on the beach. We spotted a few huge crabs just chilling out in the sand. It was pretty cool! I’d say it was a successful last full day at the beach!
The photo of the day is our Flounder friend....

The extra pic is Reagan playing in the inlet!
