It was one of my favorite days of the year, today!
The landscaping trucks showed up! I love hearing the rumbling outside the window. It's always 7:00am on the dot, too! It' really is exciting to see the dump truck filled with fresh mulch!
They give everything a nice big haircut, haul the old mulch away, and spread the new! They also give everything a nice fresh edge. I am beyond weird with the grass. I have to have a straight edge along the curb, driveway and sidewalks. If grass is growing over the side, it drives me bonkers! I edge after every single mow.
The guys also RE-fixed, the numerous tire tracks through the front yard. We had literally FOUR people drive through the yard this past winter. They already fixed it once and most of it came in pretty good, but the last guy that drove on through, kind of tore up a piece that had already been fixed. I swear we need a guardrail out there.
Anyway, they were here till around two, and there were four guys all together. Thank God for them!! Jim and I would need a month to do everything they do in a couple hours...LOL!
Now that they are all done, it's BEGONIA time! I can't wait to get them in the ground! I LOVE my flowers!
Another exciting thing that happened today, was, I saw my first Hummingbird! YAY! I filled up my feeders before we left for Myrtle, but I hadn't seen any customers. I spotted a ruby-throated flitting around. I grabbed my camera, that's always on the counter, to try to catch him eating at the feeder. He also went over to the cotton hanger I have in the tree, for them to nest with. He pecked some off, and I THOUGHT, I got some amazing pictures! I, eventually realized, that I had NO memory card in my camera! Are you kidding!? Was it my camera!? Oh well, it's a long summer!
Also, Jim's mom came over today. She took Reagan to music class and then spent the afternoon hanging out with her, while I got some chores done! Such a huge help.
While she was here, I ran out to pick something up. When I came back, there was a HUGE blue heron at the front pond. I slowed down trying to get my iPhone ready, and of course, he flew away.
Between the Robins last month, and the hummingbird and heron today, I'm not having the best luck photographing the birds...LOL! Oh well....
The photo of the day is the mulch truck!
And, the haul away truck...bye, weeds!
