Deer Park, Spillway - 199/365

Today we had nothing going on, so we decided to do a local family fun day. We hadn't been to Pymatuning Deer Park for a couple years, so we decided to try that out.
We got a late start, but we still had a ton of fun.
Reagan loves places where she can get up close and interact with the animals, so this was perfect.
The first animals up are the deer. She could stand there all day to feed them. It's so cute. She loves to make sure everyone gets a cracker and there isn't just one hog taking them all.
Next, we decided to try the Budgie (parakeet) barn. Reagan was excited at first, but they give you a popcicle stick with bird see stuck to it. Once the birds see you they come swarming at you. After that she was a little apprehensive, so she stayed back. I, on the other hand, found it hilarious and dove right in with my bird friends. LOL. They were all up my arm and around my feet grabbing the seeds that fell. I loved it!
The next highlight was the Ostrich. He was loving grabbing the crackers from us. He had this really weird thing though, when he would grab the cracker his eyes would glaze over and turn blue. Reagan was fascinated, as were Jim and I. It was bizarre. We stood and fed him for awhile just to watch him.
To end the day, Reagan did a little pony ride. She hopped right on him and away she went. She had fun.
After Deer Park, we decided to go and check out the Linesville Spillway where all the carp were. Jim and Reagan had never been there, so they were loving it. I hadn't been there since I was little, so it was fun for me, too. It didn't change a bit. Still had the bread seller and the carp were as many as I remember. There is almost more carp than water in the spillway. It's funny and disturbing at the same time. We spent a little time there, until a pop up thunderstorm halted our fun.
It was a nice family fun day!
